There was also a race track simulator for visitors to try out

Bexleyheath Car Show got underway at the weekend with visitors to Bexleyheath town centre able to view some of the latest models from Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ford and Jeep.

The show was an opportunity for visitors to meet local car dealers from across the borough and compare makes and models, and the car dealers were able answer questions, and book test drives for those who wanted to get behind the wheel.

A car simulator, the Race Hub, was also available to offer virtual simulations of real life tracks. Those with the need for speed were able to slip into pole position at Brands Harch Indy Circuit and try their hand at taking on some tracks.

For those with a love of on-screen cars, there was the opportunity to view Lighning McQueen and Mater Tow Truck from Disney’s Cars, as well as the Ghostbusters Ecto 1.

Town centre manager, Tony Garratt of Bexleyheth BID, said: “It was great to see so many people challenging my lap time on the Race Hub whilst enjoying all that the event had to offer. Bexleyheath is becoming recognised as a local destination of choice that provides free and quality events and entertainment. This is only possible by way of the collaborative working of all involved.”

Managing director of Race Hub, Mark Russell, said: “Bexleyheath car show certainly brought the racing car driver out in a few. With a two-day event it got quite tight at the top of the hot lap leader board for the Race Hub but was pipped at the last minute by Dan Dalmall with a time of 56.360, winning himself a hours free session at Brands Hatch.”
