Conningbrook Lakes Sailing are offering free taster sessions as part of a nationwide initiative

Conningbrook Lakes Sailing are offering sailing taster sessions for families this May as part of a nationwide initiative to get people involved in the sport.

The sessions are open to those who are completely new to the sport, or just looking to get back in the wayer.

The nine-day nationwide event, Push the Boat Out, will see hunndreds taking part in the sport with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country,

Danielle Juden, senior dinghy instuctor at Conningbrook in Ashford, said: “We’re inviting the local community to come down and have a go, see what Conningbrook Lakes Sailing has to offer and get involved, Who knows, you might just get hooked.”

From 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 14, there will be the opportunity to try out a dinghy sailing taster with instructors to help.

Bigger boats are abvailable for adults and smaller boats for kids aged eight and over.
