Classic 1970’s sitcom will tour UK theatres in 2018

The full cast of the 2018 rendition of classic 1970’s sit-com Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em has been confirmed as the show prepares for a UK tour.

And it includes a string of extra dates - including more shows in Kent.

The production is based on the much loved series which made Michael Crawford and Michelle Dotrice household names as the hapless Frank and Betty Spencer.

Now the first ever stage production of the accident-prone Spencers is hitting the stage with Joe Pasquale already confirmed as stepping into the shoes of Crawford.

Sarah Earnshow will be Betty and Susie Blake as Frank’s disapproving mother-in-law Mrs Fisher.

Now the producers have confirmed Moray Treadwell as Mr Luscombe and Mr Worthington - who most recently appeared in the national tour of Hysteria for the London Classic Theatre Company.

Joining him will be David Shaw-Parker as Father O’Hara, who performed in more than 25 Royal Shakespeare Company productions, and Chris Keily as Desmond and the constable. He most recently appeared in Yank! in the West End.

The UK tour arrives at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley for a string of shows between March 12-17 and then back to the Orchard Theatre in Dartford for shows between May 8-12. And if that wasn’t enough it calls into the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells from May 28 to June 2.

Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em ran for three series from 1973 to 1978 and proved a huge ratings winner on the BBC.

Featuring Frank Spencer’s efforts to get a job and provide for his family, the results were almost always chaotic, with Michael Crawford achieving additional plaudits for doing almost all of his own stunts in what was a notoriously physical show.

Repeated frequently in the years since, and with a distinctive and much-loved theme tune, the original cast of Crawford and Dotrice reunited for a one-off special last year for Comic Relief which, once again, saw Frank find himself making a meal of a relatively simply task.

Tickets for the touring production are on sale now.
