Carolyn McCrae is an award-winning author

Following the success of her previous titles, author Carolyn McCrae is set to publish her seventh novel, Second Strand.

Second Strand is a murder mystery novel following a couple Alex and Teri, on the verge or breaking up after 12 years together.

Speaking about the inspiration for her latest novel, Ms McCrae, whose first novel The Last Dance won the David St John Thomas Prize for self-published fiction, explained: “When I finish writing a book I always feel sad that I have left those characters behind. Although the story in Her Parents’ Daughter ended satisfactorily I always thought there was more to tell.”

She goes on to add: “I had an idea for a follow up to Her Parents’ Daughter which was to involve a related murder. But when my most recent book, A Set Of Lies, introduced two historically savvy investigators operating in the same town at the same time it seemed obvious that they would have to be involved. Linking characters from two very different books has been great fun.”

Second Strand is due for release on January 28 2017.
