Cray Valley will warm up for their second season in the Hurliman Kent League with a packed pre-season programme, which includes the visit of Welling United to Badgers Sports Ground.

Steve Chapman’s side finished last season strongly and with Valley set for their first entry to the FA Vase competition he has managed to re-sign all of his key players, as well as strengthen his squad.

Chapman was quick to snap up Darren Anslow following his shock resignation of fellow Kent League rivals Sevenoaks Town and his appointment as head coach demonstrates the Eltham-based side’s ambition to progress further.

Chapman said: “Darren could be the signing of the season already. He has recently gained his UEFA ‘A’ licence in coaching and I’m certain that with his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm of the game he can only add value to Cray Valley.”

Pre-season fixtures:

v East Grinstead Town – July 7

v Dulwich Hamlet – July 12

v Welling United – July 17

v Chatham Town – July 19

v Rye United – July 21

v Cray Wanderers – July 28

v Hollands & Blair – July 31

All matches to be played at Badgers Sports Ground, Middle Park Avenue, Eltham, SE9 5HT
