Transfer news: Hugo Lloris has been linked with a move to London

One of the world’s most highly-rated goalkeepers could me making his way to one of the North London rival clubs in the not-too-distant future.

Hugo Lloris, the 25-year-old Lyon custodian, who is also captain of his national side, is attracting the interest of England’s biggest clubs after his reputation soared in the past couple of seasons.

Strong, tall and athletic with exceptional handling skills, he represents all the attributes to succeed in a more physical league such as the Premiership.

Lloris has publicly made himself available for transfer, although allegedly only for a for more days by which time he will agree to stay at Lyon as the season draws ever-closer.

Arsenal, currently a goalkeeper light after the departure of Manuel Almunia emerged as his likely suitors, yet Villas-Boas at Spurs, who appears to be trying to sign anyone and everyone, has stepped into the frame to sign him, despite having Brad Friedel, Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini already at the club.

Tottenham have reportedly had a £15 million bid rejected, Lyon looking for £20 million, yet today it has emerged that talks have begun with the White Hart Lane club, seemingly Lloris’s preferred destination.
