Robin van Persie was delighted after his side finished in third place

Arsenal star Robin van Persie admitted that the best thing about Arsenal’s 3-2 win over West Brom was that they finished ahead of Tottenham.

The Gunners clinched third place with the win over the Baggies and automatically qualify for the Champions League group stage.

“The best thing is we stay in front of Spurs, which is always nice,” he told Sky Sports.

The Dutchman also paid tribute to his team-mates after picking up the golden boot for his 30 strikes this season.

“It makes me very proud,” he added.

“I see it as our golden boot after so many assists from Theo [Walcott], Alex [Song] and others.

“I had a couple of six-seven easy goals so it is our golden boot.”
