Want to throw your hat into the ring? Then hurry up

Want to know for definite who’s standing in the general election? You can find out later today.

With exactly four weeks to go until the election on May 7, 4pm today is the deadline for nominations for candidates.

You should be able to see official lists of who is standing on the council website shortly afterwards.

To vote in the general election, you must make sure you are registered by Monday, April 20. Tuesday, April 21 is the deadline for applying for a postal vote.
