The Falconwood and District Horticultural Society is holding its annual fruit, vegetable and flower show on Saturday, August 18.

The traditional village show provides a chance for residents to show off their gardening, baking and home craft skills.

This year there are 90 classes. There are also children’s classes for under 12s as well as the traditional flower and vegetable classes.

There is a new children’s cup this year, presented by the East Wickham and Welling War Memorial Trust to mark the centenary of the First World War. The competition will judge the best 6” x 4” photo entitled “My Favourite Place.”

Show secretary Val Clark said: “In recent years we have had some really good shows, but this year we would like to surpass this with more people taking part.”

Exhibitors need to register between 8am and 11am on show day.
