Developers behind a 518-apartment block held two more public consultation events last week.

The former Bexley Civic Offices site on Highland Road could be home to hundreds of flats in blocks rising up to 13-storeys.

But as developers Bellway finalise plans ahead of their submission to Bexley council later this month, two consultation events were held to gauge local reaction.

Jamie MacArthur, planning manager of Bellway Homes’ Thames Gateway Division, said: “It was great to see another large turnout to our Halloween-inspired event and to see our plans for the development at the weekend. There are a significant number of local people who have already expressed interest in purchasing a home, many for their first time.

“As we go through the planning process, speaking to as many locals to get their feedback on the scheme is important for us. We aim to submit our final plans for the scheme in the next coming weeks.”

Around 100 people attended the event on Thursday, October 26 and Saturday, October 28.

If approved by Bexley council, building work is expected to start next year on one, two and three bedroom apartments.
