Bexley apprentice Sidonie Smith was given the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award last week.

Miss Smith said: “I was really honoured to receive the award. I work in a great team and have had lots of support during my time at Bexley.”

She was also a runner up for the prize for best progression.

Another Bexley nominee, Grant Edmonds, based in Bexley’s Webteam, was a runner-up for the best contribution award.

Leader of the council, councillor Teresa O’Neill said; “I’m delighted that Sidonie has been recognised by London Councils for her hard work. To have both Sidonie and Grant shortlisted for their achievements at apprentices at Bexley is a real bonus.

“The team that co-ordinate and support all our apprentices do a fantastic job for Bexley in helping young people fulfil their potential.”
