A Bexley Cub Scout leader took to the skies last week on a wing walk to help raise funds for her scout group and the outpatients at Darent Valley Hospital.

Awena Peyto, from the 1st Baldwyn’s Park Scout Group, said: “I am quite new to being a Cub Scout leader having decided to get involved as I have 10-year-old twins who have been attending Beavers and Cubs at Baldwyn’s Park since they were old enough to join.

“They have learnt so many important life skills and I really wanted to be a part of this as everyone involved seemed to have lots of fun helping our youngsters each week.

“I have always wanted to have a go at a wing walking and my dream became a reality at Christmas when my husband and twins surprised me with a voucher to do it.

“I made the decision to raise money to buy equipment for both Baldwyn’s Park Scouts and the outpatients department at Darent Valley Hospital where I work.

“We are very fortunate at our Scout hall as we have a climbing wall and we are aiming to spend the money raised to buy new crash mats.”
