A series of free workshops to promote positive parenting to support the health and wellbeing of children and young people across the borough are set to take place from September.

The ‘Family Togetherness’ project, run by Bexley’s Family Wellbeing service, aims to address the ‘over-representation’ of young people in Child Protection services - and the profile of young people who are drawn to join gangs.

Cllr Philip Read, Bexley’s cabinet member for children’s services said: “I am delighted that the council is offering these very informative and helpful workshops.

“I am sure that everyone attending will come away with valuable insight into ways in which we can all pull together and help build stronger families and communities which will give our young people the support they deserve.”

The first workshop starts on September 3 and will run each week during term time at the following locations:

Monday September 3:

105 West Street, Erith
