It will be built on Stonewood Road after receiving planning permission from Bexley councillors.

The development of the college will see £20million investment ploughed into Erith town centre which will include a new pedestrian walkway into the train station.

Principal Danny Ridgeway said: “I am delighted that we have been given the go- ahead. I would like to thank the overwhelming support we’ve received from the local community and local businesses.

“This is good news for the staff and students because it secures the future of a rapidly improving college.”

The new building should open in September 2014.
