Bexley couple receive charity award

A Bexley couple have been given an award to honour their work in the battle against blood cancer.
Andy and Nicola Sellings were recognised by charity Anthony Nolan last week, which is striving to find a cause for the disease.
Mr Sellings was diagnosed with blood cancer and had a bone marrow transplant in May of last year through a donor found by the charity.
Since then they have organised over 40 events to raise money to fight the disease and have recruited almost 3,000 to register with Anthony Nolan.
The ceremony took place at the House of Commons last week and the award was presented by James Brokenshire, MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup.
Mr Brokenshire said: “It was a particular privilege to recognise Andy for his work. Hearing his story was truly humbling.
“His work and the work of others is literally saving lives.”
