Bexley encouraging sporting inclusion

With the Paralympic Games finishing on Sunday (September 9) Bexley council is looking to promote inclusive sport in the borough.
Olympic legacy site the Europa Centre in Crayford will start hosting recreational gymnastics for people with disabilities while Erith Yacht Club, which is also getting legacy funding, provides specially adapted boats.
Cllr Don Massey said: “There are several clubs and organisations in Bexley that have supported inclusive sport for many years, helping people to keep active irrespective of disability.”
The council’s Sporting Best programme, featured in the Bexley Times last week, included three talented youngsters with disabilities in last year’s intake.
A number of voluntary sports clubs in the borough are also actively encouraging participation from disabled people.
