The route the Olympic torch will take through Bexley was announced today (19).
The torch passes through Bexley on July 22, just five days before the start of the Games.
It will start at Erith Yacht Club, making its way down Manor Road and Queen’s Road through Erith before travelling down Bexley Road and Erith Road.
From there, it goes down Northumberland Heath towards Barnehurst, turning left at Watling Street.
It runs down the old Roman Road, Bourne Road and then back up Gravel Hill, before turning into Bexleyheath Broadway and up to Danson Park for the evening celebration.
A Welling man is one of nine who have been charged with violent disorder in connection with the trouble which marred Millwall Football Club’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on April 13.
