Bexleyheath and Barnehurst Bowls Club is looking for new players, and offering a full membership fee this year of £30.

Having received Lottery funding to improve and extend the pavilion, the club is now able to offer accessible facilities, including ramps and disabled toilet.

Club chairman Don Mackglew said: “There is a lot of talk about keeping fit and healthy.

“Playing lawn bowls could be an excellent and fun way for anyone of any age or ability to do this.

“Bowls offers opportunities to get healthy outdoor exercise whilst enjoying the company of friends and meeting new people.”

Free sessions are available at the bowling green in Russell Park, Long Lane, Bexleyheath.

Open days are: Saturday, May 12/Sunday, May 13 10am-1pm; Sunday, May 20 10-1pm; Monday, May 21 and Monday, June 4 5-7pm.

No previous experience or special equipment is required but flat soled shoes should be worn.
