The dead body of a man has been pulled from the bank of the River Thames.

Police have named him as Mark McComb, 31, from Orpington.

Officers were alerted after a man was spotted on the embankment near Erebus Drive in Thamesmead on Saturday at 6.10am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem was held yesterday. An inquest date is yet to be set.
