Staff and youngsters at a children’s hospice were visited by journalist and TV presenter Phil Spencer last week.

On Monday, the Location, Location, Location co-presenter visited Ellenor, which provides children’s hospice care across Dartford, Gravesham, Bexley and west Kent.

The charity provides care to a number of youngsters who are suffering from a range of illnesses from cancer to complex medical conditions that can leave them with physical and learning disabilities.

Mr Spencer said: “Visiting the children and families was a fantastic opportunity to see and hear first-hand about the invaluable work Ellenor does to support the local community.

“The dedicated children’s team play a hugely important role helping families through one of life’s most difficult journeys.”

According to the charity, one child or young person is referred to its children’s hospice every week, and demand for the children’s hospice care at home service is on the rise.

Head of children’s hospice care, Rebecca Scalzo, said: “We were delighted to receive a visit from Phil. The team were pleased to have the opportunity to tell him about the work we do and the families enjoyed meeting him and telling him about their own experiences.”
