A 12-year-old has been arrested following the stabbing of a 31-year-old man in Thamesmead.

The man underwent surgery an is being treated for “significant injuries” after the incident near Crossways at about 8pm on Monday.

The teen and a 16-year-old has been arrested and bailed and two 18-year-olds are in custody.

Greenwich CID are currently investigating and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

DS Michael Smith who is in charge of the investigation said: “We believe that this incident was the result of a verbal confrontation between two groups of men. We can confirm that there are no indication to suggest this incident is either gang or drug related. If you were in Thamesmead on the April 30 and noticed anything suspicious, please contact us.”
