Crayford Library is closed for the next few days to allow for installation of the town’s new post office.

The branch, in Town Hall Square, will reopen at 9.30am on Monday, December 4. During this time, borrowed items can be returned to any Bexley Council library, or renewed by calling 020 8303 7777 or visiting

“This is great news for Crayford,” said Councillor Peter Craske, cabinet member for community safety, leisure and environment.

“We will shortly have an accessible new local post office with ample parking, in the community setting of a much-loved library and in time for the Christmas post.

“I hope the new post office will help to bring even more users into the library and raise awareness of the other facilities it has to offer.”

Crayford’s previous post office, in Crayford Road, closed a year ago.

The nearest branch to Crayford Library is Central Library, Townley Road, Bexleyheath.
