Danson Lake has been closed for water sports until further notice due to harmful algae found in the water.
The Bexleyheath site hosts canoeing, rowing and sailing but has been shut for over a week since the discovery.
Bexley Council said the pollution is currently at a low level. Its spokesman said: “We constantly monitor the levels which we expect to decline as temperatures and sunlight decrease.
“We will not reopen the lake for sports until we are sure it is safe to do so.”
