NEARLY two million pensioners are not claiming money they are entitled to.

NEARLY two million pensioners are not claiming money they are entitled to.

It is estimated approximately 1.8 million pensioners nationwide are missing out on their Pension Credit, which guarantees an income of £124.05 per week and couples £189.35.

But Bexley pensioners have three months to apply for backdated payments.

Many mistakenly think that if they own their own home or have savings that they're not entitled to Pension Credit. However, nearly half those currently receiving Pension Credit own their own home and about three quarters have some savings. If Bexley pensioners miss the October 6 deadline, their claims will only be backdated for three months.

To claim or get more information please call the Local Pension Service on 020 8218 4775.
