Residents at an Erith care home celebrated Valentine’s day with homemade cakes and an afternoon of the best love songs last week.

Love was in the air as the team and residents at Shaftesbury Court Residential Care Home on Selkirk Drive marked the occasion with an afternoon tea and live entertainment.

Speaking of the festivities, 102-year-old resident, Lucy Savage said: “The Valentine’s cake was lovely – all the cakes are lovely here.

“It’s been a very nice afternoon, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself!”

The Erith home will also be opening the doors to the local community on Thursday March 1 at 2pm for their monthly afternoon tea and games.

The home’s manager Blessing Adamu said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming new and familiar friendly faces from the local community into our home for some tea, scrumptious cakes and good fun.”

Afternoon tea and games will be held at Shaftesbury Court on the first Thursday of every month.

If you are not able to attend but would like to visit the home, please call the team on 01322 33 1985.
