18 businesses took part, including staff from the organisers Greenwich & Bexleyheath Community Hospice.

The event was won by AMP Electrical, who won a frying pan. TK Maxx Bexleyheath came last to receive the wooden spoon.

The hospice expects the race to raise about £2,000 through sponsorship, pancake sales and team registration fees.

They provide people with specialist end-of-life care as well as providing support for their families and friends.

Community fundraiser Kimberley Wheeler said: “I’m delighted with the crowd turnout and support of local businesses.

“The community really pulled together today, including our volunteers who supported the event with bucket collections.”
