From January 15, work will begin to remove existing trees to enable better quality footpaths, segregated cycle ways, bus lanes, vehicle running lanes and a central landscaped area.

The works will last for approximately ten days, during which time the 31 existing trees will be replaced with more extensive landscaping.

In the central median and alongside the new footpaths, over 100 new trees will be planted.

The trees needing to be removed will be fenced off whilst work is ongoing, which may result in the use of ‘stop/go’ boards to manage the traffic.

The work is the latest stage of the Bexley developments programme.
