13-week course is running in Thamesmead

Parents in Thamesmead are being offered the opportunity to attend a free parenting course.

The Peabody Trust, a charitable housing association, is running a 13-week course called Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities for parents and guardians of children of any age up to 18, or people who are expecting a baby.

The course covers issues including how to motivate children, how to build a better relationship with them and how to stop them going down the wrong track.

Peabody’s chief executive, Stephen Howlett, said: “Being a parent can be one of the most rewarding jobs in the world but also one of the most challenging.”

The course will start next Tuesday and will be held at the Waterways Children’s Centre in Southwood Road. You can join at any time up to week four, Tuesday, May 12.
