The former shop was demolished earlier this year

Welling’s rebuilt Lidl store will be opening before the end of the month, more than a year after closing its doors.

The shop on Upper Wickham Lane shut for refurbishment in September last year, with the former building demolished.

But a newly rebuilt and refurbished shop will open in less than two weeks.

At 8am on November 30, the new store will open, offering longer, dual-style tills along with customer toilet facilities and other improvements.

The redevelopment has created 20 jobs in the town.

Regional head of property Olu Johnson, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in improving our Lidl store in Welling. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community once again.”
