Television personality and interior designer Linda Barker visited Shooters Hill on Friday (June 21) to give a resident a home makeover after she won a nationwide competition.

Jackie Brown was the lucky recipient after coming out on top in the competition hosted by Hunters Estate Agents.

Linda said: “I am very excited to be working with Hunters and giving Jackie expert tips on how she can makeover her kitchen and bathroom; two crucial parts of the house.

“First impressions count, particularly when you are thinking of selling your home. For those not as lucky as Jackie, presenting your home well doesn’t mean a complete redecoration or spending money on new furniture, it just means a bit of time and effort directed where it matters most.”

The prize includes a new Omega kitchen worth £20,000, a new bathroom supplied by local company Earlswood Interiors and soft furnishings and accessories to the tune of £5,000.

Jackie, of Ashridge Crescent, Shooters Hill, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won a home makeover by such a successful interior designer. I have watched Linda Barker on TV for years and it was fantastic to have her in my own home, providing me with advice on how to make the most of it. I have no doubt that the results will be stunning and I can’t wait to see it when it is finished.”
