The driver sustained a leg injury

A man in his 80s has suffered a leg injury after crashing into a supermarket in Sidcup.

The driver reportedly lost control of his Jaguar on Edgington Way, and witnesses claim that the driver hit two cars before smashing into the shop window.

Henry Jones, who was at the scene, said: “I was just pulling away and saw this Jaguar hit two cars as it was reversing out.

“It then sped down the lane and smashed into the window of the supermarket, making a loud crunching sound.

“I thought it was some kids who’d nicked a car but the man got out the car and he was ancient.

“If you weren’t there at the time it must have looked like a spoof police scene.”

Police were called at 11.15am and were joined at the scene by London Ambulance Service.

Nobody else is believed to have been hurt in the incident.
