GREYHOUND fans are taking on the glamour of Royal Ascot by launching their very own Ladies' Day.

GREYHOUND fans are taking on the glamour of Royal Ascot by launching their very own Ladies' Day.

Workers at the Crayford greyhound track, in Stadium Way, are donning the best in designer headgear to joined the Greyhound Derby Semi Finals Ladies Day in Wimbledon on May 23.

Emma Lovett, 26, and Lindsey Stafford, 42, will join 23 other women, (some of whom are pictured above) at the glamorous event in a bid to kick out the traditional flat cap image of greyhound racing.

Ms Lovett, the marketing officer for Crayford Stadium, said: "People often have their own misconceptions of greyhound racing and don't see it as a very glamorous sport, but a huge range of people from all ages and backgrounds regularly enjoy a night at the dogs.

"Ladies, Day will certainly challenge these stereotypes proving there are plenty of leading ladies in the greyhound industry!
