Police spoke to a group of young people who were trying to frighten passers-by at Danson Park yesterday.

The youths, aged between 17 and 20, were dressed in clown and Halloween masks.

Police were called at around 10.45pm, one man was arrested and given a £90 fine.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police in Bexley received a report of five youths who were dressed in clown and Halloween masks attempting to frighten and intimidate members of the public passing by in Danson Park.

“Officers attended and spoke to the group. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a section 5 public order offence.

“He was subsequently dealt with by way of Penalty Notice Disorder.”
