Ambassadors campaigning on behalf of Cancer Research UK met with Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett at an event last week.

Mr Evennett attended the event to discuss with ambassadors how the charity was working to help in the fight against cancer.

Speaking after the event, which took place at the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday, July 12, Mr Evennett said: “One life lost to this terrible disease is one too many. Survival in the UK has doubled over the last 40 years and that is partly down to some of Cancer Research UK’s pioneering research.

“However, there is still more to do and I am delighted to be here today to show my support for Cancer Research UK’s driving mission to beat cancer sooner.”

According to the research charity more than 160,000 people died from the disease across the country in 2014.
