A pensioner was assaulted and robbed in Sidcup last Friday (September 21).

Police are appealing for information after a 69-year-old man was stopped by a man asking for directions outside Birkbeck Primary School on Alma Road walking towards Lansdown Road.

The victim was then grabbed around the throat and the suspect stole £60 from him. It happened around 4.50pm.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 30s, around 5ft 4in tall with short black hair. He was wearing a thin blue waterproof coat and black trousers and ran off towards Station Road after taking the money.
