Raids took place in the early hours of the morning

Police have made arrests in Bexleyheath and Anerley following a series of early morning raids.

More than a dozen people were arrested in the dawn raids, which stretched from Redbridge in north east London down to Bexleyheath.

One person was arrested in the town, with another arrested in Anerley.

Police also raided properties in nearby Charlton, Woolwich and Greenwich.

The raids, carried out by Greenwich borough police, were part of the force’s fight against drug dealing in the capital.

This wider operation has included the seizure over recent months of assets including motor vehicles, in excess of £30,000 in cash and other property including high value clothing.

Commander Simon Dobinson said: “This has been a very successful operation, which has seen a large number of people arrested for being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

““This operation and others like it disrupt the dealers and dent their ability to continue in their criminal activity.

“The arrest of these people has been achieved not only through police investigation, but also through the intelligence received from the community who we are indebted to.

“I would urge anyone with information about any criminal activity to contact the police either by dialling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
