Also hosted food bank donations

The Sidcup Christmas festival took place this weekend on the high street.

There were activities at various sites along the high street which included Santa’s Grotto provided by the Rotary Club of Sidcup, real reindeers, a barn owl, a stilt walker, a recycled Christmas decoration competition, music, free children’s activities, and craft stalls offering a variety of products.

There was also a free mince pie and glass of mulled wine for the adults.

A food bank was located near Waitrose; anyone who donated an item of food was entered into a raffle to win one of seven hampers.

The Festival was organised by the Sidcup Town Team.

Linda Bailey, cabinet member for economic development and regeneration, said: “It’s great to see so much exciting activity taking place in Sidcup. Lots of people came along to enjoy the festivities and see all the great products on offer on the high street.”
