A reunion is planed to mark a school's 70th birthday.

All past pupils of Coopers school in Hawkwood Lane, Chislehurst, are invited to attend the reunion at the site on July 11 from 2pm to 6pm.

The school, which is now a technology college, began at 27 Station Road, Sidcup, in 1939 as the Sidcup Day Commercial School, with Miss A M Scorrer as its first headmistress.

But at the end of World War II the Kent Education Committee bought the old Coopers House and grounds in Hawkwood Lane.

The site was used from 1908 to 1939 by Tudor Hall School, a girl's private school which located to Oxfordshire at the outbreak of war.

The 70th anniversary celebrations will include a Sixth Form Cabaret evening, a Summer Concert of Music, an evening of Music from the Decades and a Sports Day.

Tickets for the reunion are available from Terry Moyle on 020 8467 3263 or via e-mail at

Cheques for £10 need to be made payable to Coopers Technology College and sent to Mr Moyle at Coopers Technology College, Hawkwood Lane, Chislehurst, BR7 5PS.
