KENTISH Times columnist Tom Hart Dyke will be a guest speaker at a garden roadshow at a historical property next weekend.

The Green Man, famed for his World Garden at Lullingstone Castle, will hold demonstrations and talks at the Hall Place Garden Roadshow, Bexley, from Saturday, August 30.

Other speakers at the two-day event will be George Puddefoot of Riverside Fuchsias, Dartford, Linda Clockworthy of Kent's National Association of Flower Arranging Society and demonstrations from The Hop Shop Lavender specialists in Shoreham.

Keen gardeners can put their questions to the experts at the BBC and ITV Gardeners' Question Time and purchase a range of home-grown plants on sale.

Running alongside the roadshow will be the annual Horticultural Show inside the house in Bourne Road with prize-winning flowers, champion fruits and vegetables, cakes and preserves as well as stunning arrangements.

And a Kids Zone has plenty of art and craft activities to keep youngsters entertained.

Tickets are £4 (£3 concessions) for the roadshow from 10am to 5pm on both days with free entry into the Horticultural Show from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
