Sheds destroyed in Abbey Wood fire as investigation begins

The fire started on Monday evening

Crews are investigating the cause of a fire which started in Abbey Wood on Monday.

Four fire engines were sent to Edington Road after London Fire Brigade received a call at 5.55pm.

On arrival, 21 firefighters battled flames for just under an hour, before it declaring the scene safe at 6.53pm.

Four sheds were destroyed in the blaze.

Crews from Plumstead, Erith and Bexley fire stations were sent to the scene.

The cause of the fire is not thought to be suspicious at this stage and Met Police was not called to the scene.
