Sidcup Heartswim is set to take place next month
Sidcup residents are being encouraged to take part in a swimming event that will support life-saving research into heart disease.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is hosting Sidcup Heartswim next month and hopes to raise £6,000 to help those with heart conditions.
Inspirational youngster Charlie Harris, 14, has taken part for a number of years both at Burnt Oak Primary and at secondary school, having lost family members to heart disease.
In 2016, he raised £1,190 for the charity.
Karl Coppack, BHF fundraising manager for South London, said: “Sidcup Heartswim promises to be a great event and the money raised helps fund ground-breaking discoveries and identify new treatments that could help save more people from the devastating effects of heart disease.”
The event is set to take place at Sidcup Leisure Centre on Saturday, March 11, from 5pm until 6.45pm.
