Delays and disruption after problem between Lewisham and Charlton
Commuters and train travellers across Kent and south east London continue to face major disruption to services today following yesterday’s derailment.
A train derailed between Lewisham and Charlton yesterday afternoon, with Southeastern warning of delays running into Friday morning.
Trains will not be able to run between Lewisham and Charlton, in either direction.
As a result, services between Charing Cross and Gillingham, that normally run via the Woolwich line will be diverted via Sidcup, in both directions. Services on the Woolwich line, going to Cannon Street will be unaffected.
London Underground will accept ticket holders between London Bridge, Waterloo East, Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
Any passengers that need to travel to Charing Cross from the Woolwich line, can also change at Greenwich, and use the Docklands Light Railway to Lewisham, at no extra cost.
