The incident happened yesterday (Monday) evening

A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after he was reportedly stabbed in front of his friends in Thamesmead on Monday night.

One witness to the attack on Curlew Close wrote on Facebook: “[The boy] was on his way home waiting for a bus when he was attacked in front of his friends.”

Police were called to the scene just before 10pm after reports a 15-year-old boy had been attacked.

London Ambulance Service sent four vehicles including an ambulance to the scene, with the first paramedic arriving within seven minutes of a 999 call.

A spokesperson said: “We treated a patient at the scene and he was taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Met Police described his injuries as “life threatening”.

Detectives in Bexley are now investigating the attack, but no arrests have been made so far.
