An 11-year-old Thamesmead star pupil has made it through seven years at his primary school with a perfect attendance record.
John Bakare, a pupil at Castilion School, in Copperfield Road, was rewarded by his teachers with a special certificate to recognise his commitment before leaving to go to secondary school.
He has also been given two Olympic tickets to see basketball at the newly-built Basketball Arena in the Olympic Park, Stratford.
Headteacher Steve Pepperrell said: “While we have many kids who have 100 per cent attendance records this academic year, to go through seven years without a day off is quite an achievement.”
“It is testimony to John’s dedication and attitude and we wish him all the best at Beths Grammar School in September.”
Castilion have also put him forward for a Bexley Civic Achievement Award to further acknowledge his achievement.
A Welling man is one of nine who have been charged with violent disorder in connection with the trouble which marred Millwall Football Club’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on April 13.
