Goals from Danny Kerrigan and Enoch Adjei either side of half-time were enough to beat a team who play at the same level as Isthmian League Division One North side Thamesmead.

The Mead are still waiting to see who they will play in the second qualifying round on September 22.

The result came on the back of a friendly game against HMS Ocean at Bayliss Avenue on Wednesday of last week (September 5) to thank the naval ship for the security it has provided during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Thamesmead won the game comfortably 11-1 but it was played in a good spirit and featured appearances from the hosts’ media manager Keith McMahon and coach Peter Deadmen.
