Police have re-opened the A20 after four people were involved in a two vehicle crash this morning (Wednesday March 7)

Initially reports suggested two of the injured women had suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident between a white Luton van and a blue Fiat Punto car on the coastbound carriageway near Sidcup at 9.45am.

Since then two people have been released from hospital and two remain in hospital but injuries are not life-threatening.

Fire crews had to use cutting gear to free some of the victims who were trapped in their vehicles.

Police closed the road, between the A223 turn-off and the M25 at junction 3, for several hours but it has now opened.

The London-bound carriageway was briefly closed to allow an air ambulance to land.

Any witnesses should call the serious collision investigation unit appeal line on 01622 798538.
