Welling family join bridges walk in honour of tragic son

The mother of a Welling man who died of a sudden heart attack took to the streets of London to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Paul Wilkins died on his 22nd birthday on January 11 2008 and his mum Pam Oates and her husband Bill took part in The Heart of London Bridges Walk.
Mrs Oates said: “One of Paul’s best friends, Ashley Palmer, suggested we give it a try and 20 of us took to the streets. Together we made up Team Wilko.
“People say time is a great healer but I don’t feel that. You take each day as it comes.”
The route included landmarks such as Waterloo, Tower and the Millenium Bridges and took place on Sunday.
CRY chief executive Alison Cox said: “We are moved to see so many supporters joining this wonderful event. We are immensely grateful Team Wilko were able to join us.
