Welling United moved up to third with a convincing 3-0 win at Farnborough in the Blue Square South on Saturday (September 15).
The Wings got off to a fast start with goals in the first quarter of an hour from Joe Healy and Kiernan Hughes-Mason to put the visitors firmly in command against the Hampshire side.
The hosts had a goal disallowed for offside before half-time but Healy put the result beyond doubt with his second with 25 minutes remaining.
It was their third straight league win and the team now sees only Salisbury City and Dorchester Town sitting above them.
Welling now turn their attentions to an FA Cup Second Qualifying Round fixture away to Concord Rangers on Saturday (September 22).
A Welling man is one of nine who have been charged with violent disorder in connection with the trouble which marred Millwall Football Club’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on April 13.
