Edgware-born fencer James Davis will compete in the men’s foil at this summer’s Olympics.

The 20-year-old, who now lives in Barnet, has enjoyed a successful World Cup campaign this year, having deferred his studies for a psychology degree at Middlesex University.

He said: “This is my first year as a senior and I had to do some growing up pretty quickly.

“I think I have shown a maturity in my fencing this year.”
