Olympic tennis: The Great Britain duo will team up for the mixed doubles
Wimbledon resident Laura Robson will compete with Andy Murray in the mixed doubles after Great Britain were awarded an International Tennis Federation wildcard place.
They will play the Czech Republich pairing of Lucie Hradecka, Wimbledon women’s doubles finalist, and Radek Stepanek, winner of this year’s men’s Australian Open doubles.
The British duo, who paired up to reach the final of the Hopman Cup in 2010, were handed one of the four wildcard spots available.
Robson will now have another shot at Olympic doubles glory, having been knocked out of the women’s doubles with Heather Watson on Saturday.
In the women’s singles, meanwhile, the 18-year-old will meet world number three Maria Sharapova in their second round match on Tuesday afternoon.
